This leading Private Bank is looking for seasoned business risk talent to lead their team. You will be directly reporting to C-level, leading a team of 5. Great working culture and great remuneration package are provided.

job scope.
As the Head of Business Risk in a Leading Private Bank, your key responsibility will be to:
  • Manage and supervise the team to sustain a robust business risk and control framework to enable oversight, control and monitoring for the bank, with key focus on investment suitability, Deposit Protection Scheme and payments.
  • Act as the primary authority on all risk and control matters - promoting best practices and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards while exploring opportunities for process improvements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Compliance, Risk, COO, and Management on a variety of topics, actively participating in Risk and Culture and Conduct Committees.
  • Take charge of the Wealth Management Suitability Procedure and training initiatives, contributing to system enhancements regarding suitability and order management.
  • Implement continuous monitoring of business activities post-trade and ensure timely action on any issues identified.
  • Manage the client complaints process and address business operational losses and other associated risks.
  • Ensure compliance with external regulations and internal policies, aligning with the Bank’s directives to mitigate financial, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Ensure all updates to policies and procedures are seamlessly integrated into the business, with the Front Office fully complying with requirements.
  • Prepare and present monthly management reports of risk items to senior management/ stakeholders for oversight and review
  • Contribute to regulatory and internal training to promote compliant operations.

requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, business, finance, or a related field. MBA or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Over 15 years of experience in business risk/ control area with minimum 3 years in a managerial role, ideally in a private banking sector
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of local regulatory requirements, particularly in investment suitability, order processing, and the Deposit Protection Scheme.
  • Strong grasp of business processes and controls in financial institutions, ideally within Private Banking.
  • Confidence and resilience to effectively manage challenging situations with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Superior communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven skills in management and project coordination.
