job scope.
As the Analyst, Conflict & Intake in a International Law Firm, your key responsibility will be to:
  • Understand legal conflicts, related ethical rules, current developments and requirements to properly analyze, evaluate the conflicts check (clarity on parties, positions, etc.); identify possible issues, clear all forms throughout the lifecycle, including conflicts analysis, resolution, intake review and compliance follow-ups within the designated region.
  • Review new and existing clients for conflicts of interest, and preparing reports for firm partners, counsel, attorneys and professional staff, provide advice on conflict check results, processes, and policies
  • Collaborate with attorneys to provide guidance/ solution on conflict-related issues.
  • Understand the rules of professional conduct including jurisdictional differences, stay updated on industry best practices and legal developments related to conflicts of interest.
  • Request waivers for all new clients/new matters requiring consent and confirm that all conflicts have been resolved; provide waiver-drafting services upon request and, in the future, whenever waivers are needed. 
  • Conduct data analysis and research using various electronic databases
  • Document process, maintain records of conflicts related information from the conflicts reporting analysis, follow-ups responses and other relevant data from conversations with the attorneys
  • Perform conflicts case law and legal ethics research.
  • Provide conflicts training for secretaries, paralegals and attorneys as needed.
  • Analyse incoming lateral candidates as requested.
  • All other duties as assigned or required.

requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business, or a related field with over 3 years experience in a law firm, legal environment or conflicts department.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • An overall understanding of a corporate law practice.
