Job description

Oue client is a leading provider of 3PL logistics services, offering a comprehensive suite of supply chain solutions to a diverse range of clients across multiple industries. The General Manager is responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the business through strategic business development initiatives and effective key account management. This role will also oversee the seamless integration of a new team, welcoming the team move and ensuring a smooth transition and continued high performance operations.
  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan to identify new business opportunities, target markets, and potential clients in the 3PL space. This includes conducting market research, competitor analysis, and trend forecasting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Engage in high - level negotiations to secure new contracts and business partnerships, ensuring alignment with the company's growth objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead in the market. Use insights to develop unique value propositions and differentiate the company's 3PL services.
  • Thoroughly assess customer needs and customize the company's services to offer bespoke solutions. Work hand - in - hand with finance and operations teams to refine pricing strategies and boost profit margins.
  • Manage and nurture key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Develop a deep understanding of each key account's business requirements, goals, and pain points, and tailor 3PL solutions accordingly.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, handling all communication, inquiries, and escalations. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services, and proactively address any issues or concerns.
  • Work with the sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities for upselling and cross - selling additional 3PL services to key accounts. Collaborate with account teams to develop customized proposals and presentations for key accounts.
  • Monitor key account performance, using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on - time delivery, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction scores. Develop and implement improvement plans as needed to enhance account performance.
  • Oversee the integration of a new team into the existing 3PL operations. Develop a comprehensive integration plan that includes onboarding, training, and cultural assimilation activities, welcoming the team move.
  • Take the helm in leading and mentoring the business development and account management teams. Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics for comprehensive team assessment.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the integrated team, setting clear goals, objectives, and performance expectations. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that promotes innovation, continuous improvement, and high - performance.
  • Manage the day - to - day operations of the 3PL business, including resource allocation, scheduling, and performance monitoring. Ensure that all operations are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in 3PL operations, business development, and key account management.

    Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent level of work experience is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 7 years of management experience within a freight forwarding setting, with demonstrated responsibility for Profit and Loss (P&L).
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement initiatives, P&L management, facilities management, and security is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service acumen is a must, along with the capability to efficiently identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Proven expertise in project management methodologies, with a particular emphasis on solution management and strategic planning to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with partners, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.
