Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team in the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will assist in analyzing data to derive actionable insights, support decision-making, and contribute to various data-driven projects that enhance our insurance products and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in collecting, processing, and cleaning large datasets from various sources within the insurance industry.
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to integrate data science into various business applications, successfully leading and executing Data Science projects.
  • Create basic data visualizations and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Excel.
  • Work closely with senior data scientists, underwriters, claims analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs.
  • Communicate data findings and insights effectively to non-technical team members.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data science and insurance.
  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and other professional development activities.
  • Oversee the development and implementation for various reporting tasks using Power BI, ensuring that actionable insights are derived from data visualization with a strong focus on customer-centricity.
  • Support the transition of business operations in data and cloud projects, promoting awareness and fostering learning across the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in data science or a related role, preferably within the insurance industry.
  • Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Experience in cloud services is a plus (e.g. Azure, GCP, AWS, and Databricks)
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
